New College provides scholarship funding to most enrolled students, providing an exceptional education at an affordable price.
Admitted students who are U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent resident aliens, or eligible non-citizens will be considered for scholarship funding. Also, there are additional scholarships available by application. If a student qualifies for more than one scholarship, we will assign the best option (unless the scholarship indicates otherwise). All scholarships are subject to renewal requirements and to availability of funding. Institutional funding is not available to students who already hold a bachelor’s or advanced degree.
Scholarship Award Opportunities
The Presidential Honors Scholarship supports students who show outstanding promise in their academic journey at New College. Students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, leadership, and engagement may qualify for this scholarship.
Award Amount:
The amount awarded for the Presidential Honors Scholarship is determined by individual qualifications, including academic performance, extracurricular achievement, and demonstrated leadership.
For students who qualify for a Federal Pell Grant, we offer full coverage of tuition and fees through gift aid from grants, scholarships, or waivers (excluding the Federal Pell Grant). This ensures that students with significant financial need receive the support they need to attend New College. To be eligible, students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet the qualifications for the Pell Grant.
Award Amount:
Full coverage of tuition and fees through gift aid from grant, scholarship or waiver (excluding the Federal Pell Grant). Available to both Florida and out-of-state residents.
The NCF Foundation Scholarships are application-based awards designed to support students based on specific criteria or personal achievements. These scholarships are awarded through a competitive selection process. Applications will be available for admitted students.
Award Amount:
Varies based on each specific scholarship and eligibility criteria. Available to both Florida and out-of-state residents.
Exclusively for out-of-state students, the NCF Out-of-State Scholarship provides significant financial support to help offset the cost of out-of-state tuition. This award is designed to make a New College education more accessible for students from outside Florida and to attract a diverse student body from across the nation.
Award Amount:
$15,000 per year for out-of-state students
Florida’s Office of Student Financial Assistance administers a number of grant and scholarship programs, including these:
Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans (2024-25 Fact Sheet)
Benacquisto Scholarship Program
Rosewood Family Scholarship (2024-25 Fact Sheet)
A waiver is available to students who meet certain criteria and who have grandparents who meet the Florida resident documentation requirements.
Each of these awards are designed to help students afford a transformative education at New College of Florida. We encourage all prospective students to explore their options and apply for the scholarships that best match their qualifications.
Total grants, scholarships, waivers and loans cannot exceed the institutional cost of attendance.
*Scholarship funding amounts are tied to residency guidelines for tuition purposes. Download the residency guidelines by clicking on this link. For example, a student who is a Florida resident for tuition purposes will not be eligible for an out-of-state scholarship. If a student qualifies for more than one scholarship, the student will receive the scholarship award with the larger dollar amount (unless the scholarship indicates otherwise).
